Virgin piña colada is a refreshing vegan cocktail drink made with fresh pineapple juice, coconut milk/cream and ice cubes. It is great for parties and entertaining since everyone can enjoy it plus is super simple to make.
Most of you may have heard of cocktail Piña Colada which is an alcohol based drink made of rum, pineapple juice, coconut milk/cream and sweetened with sugar. The non-alcoholic version of this drink is known as Virgin Piña Colada. The base ingredients remain the same that is pineapple juice, coconut shaked with ice cubes only the rum is eliminated to make it a non alcoholic one.
The combination of flavors from the tangy sweet pineapple, the sweetness of coconut milk and the icecubes is ultimate game changer. Just One sip…and you will know what I’m saying. If you haven’t tried this drink yet you are surely missing out.
It is very easy to make the Piña Colada recipe. All you need to do is in a tall serving glass pineapple juice with coconut milk or coconut cream. That’s it.
Let’s see how to make this easy and refreshing virgin Pina Colada recipe at home in steps.
2 cups pineapple (chopped)
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4th cup water
crushed ice cubes
200 ml or 3/4th cup coconut milk/cream
I used half of a medium pineapple and got about 2 cups of chopped pineapple wedges. And then you can add the wedges or cubes in a blender jar with 3 tablespoon of sugar. Water if required!
Blend to a smooth puree. There should be no pineapple chunks in the puree.
Pour it in a tall glass upto 3/4th portion and then add 200 ml or about 3/4 cup thick coconut milk with ice cubes. You can also use coconut cream, but then add some water or coconut water to thin the drink. (If you like one)
Absolutely to your preference.
Serve pina colada cocktail immediately. While serving you can garnish with some mint leaves or pineapple wedges or add some ice cubes if you like it more chilled.
